Heritage Christian Academy has been serving the Christian home since 1981.
Heritage Christian Academy was started by and is a ministry of Grace Free Lutheran Church. GFLC is a member of the Association Free Lutheran Congregations (AFLC), which is a strong Bible based, evangelical church association. Heritage Christian Academy’s student body is representative of over 100 church homes. Heritage does not teach any particular denominational doctrines; rather, Heritage faculty teach all subjects with a biblical worldview.
HCA’s Bible curriculum comes directly from the Bible, God’s Holy Word. Bible stories, Scripture memorization, and studies in the Bible take place. Specific doctrines are taught according to HCA’s Statement of Faith located in the handbooks. Many different churches are represented at HCA. Our goal is to keep God as our center focus in life, which includes family, school, and church. It is HCA’s desire for each student, family, teacher, and staff member to have personal faith in Jesus Christ and to be a growing Christian. HCA affirms the importance and application of the Bible to every area of life; therefore, each area of instruction is impacted by Biblical integration.
Students at Heritage attend weekly ENCOUNTER (chapel) services, which include worship and speakers. These are split into kindergarten, elementary, and middle/high school.
Music education is taught in grades KD-5. Band and orchestra begin in grade 4. Students in grades 6-9 choose to participate in band, orchestra, and choir. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors may choose between multiple music electives. Students also have opportunities to participate in theatre arts and visual arts.

Heritage Christian Academy has developed a philosophy that utilizes technology within a biblical framework. In partnership with parents, Heritage Christian Academy teachers equip students to purposefully use technology as one of many instructional tools. Whether it is a digital citizenship course or computer aided design, elementary through high school students explore new ways of using technology to advance the kingdom of God in the ever changing landscape of our world. The Christ-centered, student-focused environment of Heritage Christian Academy fosters individual growth in the area of technology as each student’s unique needs and God given talents are developed.

Mutual respect in the classroom, coupled with the joy of learning provides an environment that is conducive to educational growth, perhaps at a faster pace. Heritage is grounded in Christian teachings that foster relationships quickly, allowing new students to transition comfortably and happily. While HCA’s student standardized test scores are well above the national norm, Heritage strives to ensure student success by offering resources, such as tutoring and academic coaching, in addition to classroom support.
